Four Tennessee football players are inactive for tonight’s game against Akron. Cornerbacks Warren Burrell and Dee Williams, offensive tackle Jeremiah Crawford and linebacker Kwauze Garland will not suit up against the Zips.
Williams is missing his third straight game with an injury as the junior college transfer has yet to make his Tennessee debut. The 5-foot-11 corner is a back up defensive back on Tennessee’s depth chart and a co-starter at punt returner.
Burrell played in each of the first two games of the season, recording 12 tackles and one pass breakup. The Georgia native started both games and has played the most snaps of any Tennessee cornerback to this point in the season.

With Burrell and Williams sidelined sidelined, Christian Charles and Brandon Turnage will step up in a bigger role tonight against Akron.
Crawford is missing his first game of the season despite not playing in Tennessee’s week two win over Pitt. The former junior college lineman played major snaps week one as the left tackle battle between Crawford and Gerald Mincey continued into the season.
Garland — a back up linebacker — missed last week’s game against Pitt after playing sparingly week one against Ball State.
