Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel put the final bow on the Vols’, 38-33, win over Florida while meeting with the local media Wednesday morning.
Heupel discussed areas where Hendon Hooker could get better despite earning SEC and national honors for his 461 yard and three touchdown performance against Florida.
Hooker as well as Tennessee offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins earned SEC weekly honors for their performance against the Gators. Four games into the season, Spraggins hasn’t allowed a sack or a quarterback hit.
“He always plays with great energy and great passion,” Heupel said of Spraggins. “He plays to the echo of the whistle. I love his football, energy, excitement and demeanor every single day. He cares in a really good way. He’s just gotten better in being fundamentally better in pass protection. His growth through spring ball and training camp has allowed him to play more efficiently in the pass protection world.”

Tennessee now turns its attention to LSU who the Vols will face after the off week. The Tigers are 3-1 entering their week five road trip to Auburn with their lone loss coming against Florida State.
“They’re long. They’re athletic,” Heupel said of LSU. “Defensively, they’re multiple in what they do. Offensively, have some skill players that can affect the game. Good football team.”
