Tennessee is bringing back its Smokey Grey uniforms for Saturday’s matchup at No. 25 LSU. The Vols announced the return of the Smokey Grey uniforms — which were last worn in 2016 — this summer before announcing they would wear them against LSU Monday evening.

Tennessee is 3-1 in its Nike Smokey Grey uniforms and 3-2 overall when you account for the Vols’ loss to Georgia in the Adidas Smokey Grey uniforms in 2013.
The home fans at Neyland Stadium won’t get to see the return of the Smokey Grey, but LSU wearing white uniforms at home allows the Vols to wear home uniforms on the road.

Tennessee is 2-0 this season in its classic home uniforms with orange jerseys and white pants, 1-0 in its all orange uniforms and 1-0 in its all white, stormtrooper, uniforms.
With the Smokey Grey uniforms returning, Tennessee has two different alternate uniforms. The Vols debut their “dark mode” uniforms against South Carolina a season ago before wearing them again in the loss against Georgia.
The Vols opened as four-point road favorites at LSU with the spread dropping to 3.5 since the line came out Sunday afternoon.
