Fresh off the bye week, the eighth-ranked Tennessee Volunteers are now gearing up for their third Top 25 showdown of the season with No. 25 LSU.
Tennessee will look to put an end to a five-game losing streak against the Tigers this Saturday in Baton Rouge at 11 a.m. CT/12 noon ET.
Vols head coach Josh Heupel opened the week with a routine Monday morning press conference, first talking about a successful recruiting weekend during the bye week before turning his attention to the Tigers.
While the Vols will be playing before the clock hits noon in Louisiana this weekend, Heupel is quite fond of the early kick-off time.
“If you ask coaches everywhere, they say give me the earliest kickoff possible,” Heupel said with a laugh on Monday. “For us, it’s going to be a great environment. I’m sure it’ll be a packed house. This is a tough place to play, but it’s so much about us and our preparation (and) making sure that we handle things the right way. We have to take care of the football, we can’t have penalties. You can’t do things that hurt yourself in this football game. It’s a really good team that we’re playing.”
