Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media on Thursday before the Vols head to Baton Rouge this Saturday.

No. 25 LSU will host No. 8 Tennessee this Saturday at 12 noon ET in the SEC’s only ranked matchup of the day.

While the early start does make for a morning matchup in Death Valley, Heupel still fully expects a bigtime atmosphere from the crowd at hand.

“Yeah, I’ve been to Baton Rouge before as a coach,” Heupel said on Thursday. “Good environment and typically a really good football team when you step into it. Preparations have been good, 11-on-11 when you get between the white lines. You’ve got to go compete really hard for 60 minutes. They’re a good football team. They’re athletic. It’ll be a big test for our football team, but one that our players and staff are truly excited about and feel like we’ve prepared a good way up until this point. Got to finish it tomorrow and be ready to go compete on Saturday.”

While getting ready for LSU’s impressive atmosphere, Heupel and the Tennessee staff have been pumping in crowd noises and music while simulating playing on the road.
