Tennessee Football is dominating the conversation on social media.

According to SkullSparks this week, Tennessee Football had more engagement and interaction on the team’s Twitter account than any other team in college football this past month. And, frankly, it’s not even close.

The data shows that Tennessee’s team account, @Vol_Football, drew 5.9 million interactions in the month of October. The next closest, Michigan, drew 3.1 million. Texas followed at 2.4 million, LSU at 2.3 million, and Alabama at 2.2 million.

It’s not hard to see why Tennessee’s month was so massive after defeating three Top 25 teams and two big rivals. The Vols began the month with a road win at LSU, in which they thrashed LSU to the tune of 40-13. Tennessee then followed that up with a buzzer-beating win against then No. 3 Alabama, a homecoming blowout over UT Martin, and a dismantling of Kentucky under the Neyland Stadium lights.

Tennessee’s social media team has been extra impressive this season. The Vols’ account does a terrific job of posting must-see content, and with Tennessee’s hungry fanbase waiting for each tweet, the interactions only grow.

It hasn’t just been the social media numbers, though. For every reason why Tennessee’s Twitter account has been trending upward, the same is true regarding the Vols’ television numbers.

The October game between Tennessee and Alabama was the most watched game of this rivalry at 11.557 million viewers on CBS, even peaking at 17 million viewers. The game was the most-watched game on CBS since the 2019 classic between Alabama and Joe Burrow’s LSU Tigers.

Additionally, the Tennessee-Florida game had an average of 5.571 viewers on CBS while the Tennessee-Pittsburgh game had an average of 4.5 million viewers on ESPN during week two.
